Also, known as Shali, Shaligram is a sacred stone in a spherical shape, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu is known by various names. Different names with different characters represent different Shaligram. These stones are found only in two places i.e, the Kali-Gandaki and Muktinabh river in Nepal. There are numerous Shaligram Benefits pursued by the person who owns it like worldly pleasures, good wives and sons, better health, peaceful environment and immense protection from all the sins, problems and evil forces.


Devotee before installing Shaligram in their home should know How To Worship Shaligram. Initially, it should be given a bath from Panchamrit (Five Nector) which constitutes Sugar, Honey, Curd, Ghee and Milk, followed by an offering of Tulasi leaves, fruits, incenses, diya and shankh. Then, the puja takes place. Along with worshipping Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna is also worshipped. A Shaligram always has a mark of a Shankh, Chakra, Gada and Padma in a specific order, which is worshipped as Keshava. Through these marks, a Shaligram is recognized.


Numerous Shaligram includes Pradhuma Shaligram, Kalp Laxmi Shaligram, Kuber Shaligram, Kamdhenu Shaligram, Buddha Shaligram, Ananta Shaligram, Parshuram Shaligram and so on. To feel the Importance of Shaligram, chant the following mantra which will provide a person with removal of tensions, anxieties and worries leading to fulfillment of wishes, ambitious and success-

“aputro labhateputram Salagrama pujanat

Moreover, worshipping Shaligram liberate a person from the cycle of birth and death and achieving moksha- the ultimate aim of one’s life.
